On July 10th I was fortunate enough to compete in the 2011 Bay State Games with some of the other members of my weightlifting team, Robinson Weightlifting.  In total RWL had 10 lifters in various weight classes and age groups competing at the meet and the majority were able win medals.  The majority of the teams success can be attributed to the coaching Dr. Ellen Robinson and Stephanie Baker, both in training and during competition.

Personally I was able to acquire a third place finish in the 85 kilogram weight class, with a total of 207 kilograms.  The winner of the weight class was a team member of mine who was able to post a total of 215 kilograms, with a 115 kg clean and jerk, and a 100 kg snatch.  My total was a result of a 86 kg snatch and a 121 kg clean and jerk, both of which were meet personal records and only a few kilos under my training records of 90 kg in the snatch and 123 kg in the clean and jerk.  I was very pleased with my lifts, and extremely proud of the performance of all of my teammates.  All in all, it was a very successful showing for RWL and a step in the right direction to completing our goal of sending more athletes to national competitions.
