Hello, I’m Ben Desmarais and I have begun my intern experience at Northeastern. I am currently a senior at Bridgewater State University pursing a degree in exercise science. I am a very active person who loves to play all kinds of sports. I am originally from South Hadley, MA where I attended high school and played lacrosse and football. Football is my favorite sport and that is why I chose to continue to play for the Bridgewater Bears. I have just completed my senior season this past fall. This will not be my dismissal from the sport because I wish to continue to be involved by coaching football.

Ever since I can remember, my parents have been big into fitness and exercise. I have not only followed in their footsteps, but chose to pick a career in the field. Playing sports at a young age got me involved early and I have not turned back. What I have come to love is finding and learning about the body’s limitations, as well as what it takes to make someone perform at the best of their ability.

I hope to gain quality hands on experience from the great strength and condition program at Northeastern University. This will help me get a first-hand look at what goes into making strength and conditioning program successful. I plan on obtaining my CSCS certification in May of 2013 and possibly continuing my education in graduate school.
